I’m not sure how it is misinformation, I don’t think the point of the article was to assert that Americans don’t spend as much as other countries on foreign aid or to downplay the large amounts that we do spend.
We spend twice as much as any other country (in absolute terms) on foreign aid and our giving does makes up large percentage of worldwide foreign aid.

I was getting irritated by all of the cartoon pictures on facebook (that are supposedly preventing child abuse) and decided to look up a decent charity that actually does something against child abuse on www.charitynavigator.org.
Then I got distracted (and shocked) by how much the CEOs of well-known charities make. A lot of the highest paid are CEOs of museums, symphony orchestras and research...
